Hot Air Balloon Adventure

We went up, up and away in a virtual hot air balloon for a ride to the mountains.

Fun Friday

After a very busy week we decided to have a fun Friday afternoon. We finished our phonics for the week and then got out the kinetic sand and duplo.
Such a great way to use our imaginations and practice our team work and cooperation skills.


Thanks to Ayla and her family for letting us borrow the duplo.

A wonderful start...

Three new Russley children started school today. Kia Ora to Esme, Rafael and Antonio.

J is for Jelly

It is J week. We decided to make jelly and watch how the jelly crystals change as we turn then into jelly. What a fun way to learn about this term's inquiry topic - Change.

First we looked at the packet and the instructions. Then we poured the jelly crystals into a bowl. We found out that they dissolve when they are stirred into boiling water. The mixture was really runny. The jelly cooled and then set. Now the jelly is wobbly and yummy!



We wrote tasty stories about our making jelly experience.
We are getting very good at taking photos of our learning! There are some great action shots in this video.

Week 2 news

Welcome Farron!

Farron has started school. She has been very busy writing and making flowers for Mother's Day.

We are learning all about change this tern. We changed water into ice (and back again!). Then we found out all about icebergs.

Mr Griffiths was collecting all the autumn leaves. We decided it looked like fun so we went out to help.

Happy Birthday Mason, welcome to Room 17. Mason was very excited to use his brand new whiteboard pen. He did a very good printing with his biro pen as well!
