Whales and Wheelbarrows

Week 10 was Wh week.
We learnt many facts about whales. Did you know that blue whales are the largest animals ever to be on earth?
At the beginning of the year we found writing really hard and didn't like it much. Now look at us! We make picture plans with labels to plan our story and then get started. We are independent and very quiet workers at writing time. No wonder we are fantastic authors!
In this movie we are writing non-fiction stories about a whale rescue on Waimairi Beach (just down the road).

We borrowed the caretaker's wheelbarrow and gave each other rides. What fun!

Spring Lamb

Room 16 have been learning about spring. Hayden brought his lamb to school. We went outside to have a look too.

The Team Players of Room 17

Watch the wonderful Team 17 sharing... During our final Augustine dance practice we alternated between dancing and playing. We are champions at both!!

Ika

We went to visit the salmon that Room 13 have been raising. Soon they will be let go in Corfe Stream. Imagine.... they will return after several years at sea, to the exact same place, to lay their eggs that will begin the life cycle again!

Week 6

We had some cricket coaches from Burnside Cricket Club come and play cricket with us. What fun!

After our reading groups and reading activities we are allowed to choose a literacy game or to make things in our craft corner. Look at what we can make....
